Does anyone have any Mac utilities recommendations?

The primary thing I’m missing is clipboard history but I’d also like to know what kind of terminal emulators people are using and if there are any other tools or utilities that you’ve found improve QoL significantly.

One big one that I’ve been using that is really nice paired with Visual Studio Code is devcontainers - [https://containers.dev](https://containers.dev). Technically can be used anywhere, but it runs really smooth here and is a much nicer way to spin up your development environment rather than using venv or installing tools/libraries locally.

Here’s a minor one but it’ll pay off: get the non-XCode version of Git installed. The one Apple packages is usually old as dirt.

I also believe @LeonVQZ has been excited about RayCast.

As taggart mentioned, I’m using Raycast (without the AI features), it has great clipboard history support and much more.

Another QoL improvement is DockDoor, it has some nice features for making the Dock more useful.

Just generic reccomendations without regard for your question:

- Alfred/Raycast (has clipboard history)
- LittleSnitch
- Rectangle
- iStats Menu
- OrbStack
- TextExpander
- Ghostty/Kitty/iTerm2
- AppCleaner
- Suspicious Package (and all the objective-see stuff: [Objective-See: Tools](https://objective-see.org/tools.html))

OrbStack looks cool, I need to dive deep into it.
Objective-See stuff seems awesome!

TextExpander looks cool, but I don’t see myself using it… I feel like most of the time I want to type stuff myself. I don’t need to optimize everything to maximize saved time xD

I like [Flameshot](https://flameshot.org) for screen grabs. I also use Ubuntu a lot, so it’s nice to have a common tool across the two.

I didn’t see in the other posts a mention for home[brew](https://brew.sh), so I reckon I should mention that as well. Makes for a very simple tool for adding additional cli utilities.

I recently got to know that DockDoor has a 1 time payment pro version which its on beta now. I haven’t tested it but sounds promising.
