Pretty light week on professional Ws this week, but I did have some technical victories with Wazuh in creating a SIEM for a honeynet. I think I’ll be able to share this soon as a nicer way to stand up a useful SIEM that’s easier to manage than Elastic.
For Gratitudes, well: I turn 40 this week, so there’s a lot of reflection on what I’m grateful for in my life. I don’t anything particularly profound to say about it, other than being filled with a sense that good or bad, I’m grateful for the journey.
G: For my partner I’ve had the pleasure of knowing 6 years since friday. I’m looking forward to another and many more. We each have and have had a lot to overcome but have been doing so together, making a future for ourselves, and for that I am extremely grateful.
W: Mostly just surviving tourist season at the arcade. so many things I feel like are being held together by ducktape. looking forward to it slowing down so I can fix things properly instead of just good enough
G: I was able to go to BSides Las Vegas and Def Con this year. a) didn’t get injured in the process and b) got to see some really cool talks at both places
